Katrin Roggeman
Katrin Roggeman is a civil law notary at Van Halteren Notaries. She completed her entire academic career at KU Leuven, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Law in 1992 and graduated with distinction with a Master’s degree in Notarial Law in 1993. Her professional career began at the firm of civil law notary Thierry Van Halteren in 1992, initially as a student trainee, where she subsequently progressed from trainee to civil law notary in 2004.
With more than thirty years of experience in the profession, she combines in-depth legal expertise with a strong strategic and governance-oriented perspective. Within the firm, her current specialisation lies in civil law and tax estate planning. She advises and assists families with the strategic structuring and optimisation of asset transfers. Thanks to her extensive practical experience, she has a comprehensive understanding of the specific rules governing family property law and inheritance law across Belgium’s three regions, both from a civil law and a tax perspective.
Alongside her daily practice, Katrin enjoys broad recognition within the sector for the prominent governance roles she has held. As Chair of the Board of Directors of the Royal Federation of Belgian Notaries (Fednot), she played an influential role within the Belgian notarial profession and represented the sector at international level. Her previous involvement in the Dutch-speaking Appointment Committee for the Notarial Profession and the Chamber of Notaries of Brussels-Capital further reflects her professional integrity.
As a pioneer in innovation, she played a key role in the digital transformation of the profession, including through the rollout of the digital power of attorney and the Start My Business platform.
Outside the office, her dynamic energy is reflected in sporting challenges and her active involvement in fundraising in support of cancer research.
